Peng-Chih Chu is an artist from Taiwan. Chu received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Shih Chen University in 2016 and is currently finishing his Master’s Degree in 3D Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art. From his deep interest in phenomenology and photography, most of his works are lighting installations. His work springs from an exploration of banal objects and the surroundings of daily life. With a keen awareness of space, the priority of thinking is always how to make the audience notice a different spatial experience.

Light is something we always take advantage of, but we rarely stop to think about – we just see it as a moment of brightness. Chu keeps experimenting with different lighting sources and then combining lens or other materials, which can present a unique visual effect. Once the role of light starts to change in our minds, we might see our world differently through a brand new lens.
